Top Nordstrom | Skirt Forever21 | Tights Urban Outfitters | Jacket Aritzia |  Boots Topshop | Beanie Topshop

The sudden influx of warm weather in my area has me craving the cold. I dawned this outfit in order to win an Instagram contest with Nordstrom earlier this year. I ended up with a 75 dollar gift card! This was the first time I decided to try my suspender tights. My tights and safari jacket added a bit of edge to an otherwise simple outfit. What do you think? Was this outfit worthy of the win?

Top Nordstrom | Skort Zara | Shoes Topshop | Blazer H&M | Necklace Antique

Since my blog is relatively new, I thought I would update it with some of my old outfits. I love this outfit that I put together over the summer to attend a fashion show that was taking place in my city. My trusty old Zara skort was the perfect compliment to my new (at the time) mock, velvet turtleneck. A white blazer added a pop of contrast to an otherwise all black ensemble, typical for my every day attire. I threw on a thick gold chain to make a statement for the night, and I was all set!

Black, White, and Burgundy

Jacket Forever21 | Top Urban Outfitters | Skirt Forever21 | Shoes Forever21 | Beanie H&M | Necklace Nordstrom

It's probably not shocking to most of you that I traditionally stick to a monochromatic color palette. However, today I thought I would add a little bit of color to my ensemble with this burgundy/wine skater skirt. It's fun, sophisticated, and flirty all at the same time. This outfit was perfect for a holiday gift exchange and, later, dinner with the family at a nice restaurant. The victorian inspired necklace and slightly heeled boots add a dressy element, while the beanie still helps to keeps it casual. As always, the weather prevented me from going out with bare arms, so I added my trust leather jacket. Please let me know what you think in the comments!

Let's Talk Tartan

Sweater Zara | Blouse Nordstrom | Skirt Goodwill | Tights Urban Outfitters | Shoes Topshop | Hat Antique Store

I was so excited when I found this old tartan skirt in my collection of costumes. Luckily, I had bought this years ago for a 90's theme night. It's literally the perfect skirt for this fall and winter season. Everything from the 90's came back: crop tops, oversized sweaters, plaid, and mom jeans. I love to add a newer twist to throwback pieces like this skirt. I layered my simple black Zara sweater over a white button down and slipped on my favorite suspender tights. My antique black bowler hat and brand new round sunnies were the perfect compliment to this outfit. Let me know what you think!

A Different Denim

Sweater Forever21 | Jacket Nordstrom | Jeans Topshop | Boots Steve Madden

Yesterday, while I was at work, sorting through clothes on the sales rack, I stumbled upon this gorgeous denim jacket. I love that it's styled like an anorak instead of a basic button up with a collar. Plus, the sherpa hood is amazingly soft and warm! And, well, it was on sale, so I couldn't resist buying it. I just went out to lunch and worked on a school project around town today, so I decided to choose something comfortable. My favorite cream sweater and super soft jeans were the ideal combination for the day. Because of the 23 hours I spent on my feet working, I couldn't take wearing heels. Instead, I opted for my trusty beat-up and worn out Steve Madden Troopas.

Plaid Pants

Sweater Zara | Pants Anthropologie | Coat Forever21 | Boots Forever21 | Beanie H&M

Last Friday, I stumbled upon this amazing pair of plaid pants at Anthropologie for only $20!! They were the last pair, and they just so happened to be my size. Talk about meant to be. The next day, my friends and I decided to check out the new Hunger Games Movie, Catching Fire (If you haven't seen it, go now!). I was dying to wear my new plaid pants, so I paired them with a simple cropped sweater,  cut-out booties, and a boyfriend coat. Topping it off with a beanie really completed the outfit.

Introduction

Welcome to The Petite Silhouette!

For those of you reading that have probably ventured here from Tumblr, it's nice to see you! Thank you for checking out my blog and I hope to continue seeing you here.

For those of you who have never met me, I thought I would do a mini introduction. I am currently a senior in high school who is stressing out about everything, but I'm trying to keep it together. Fashion is something that always brightens my days and is my favorite mode of self-expression. After attending college, I aspire to work in the fashion industry somewhere whether that be through buying, merchandising, or just blogging. Now for some fun facts:

1. I worked as a fashion blogger for Nordstrom's BP Fashion Blog.

2. I am extremely short! Hence, The Petite Silhouette.

3. Musical theater is my life. I am currently in my school's production with a lead role.

4. I love photography even though I'm not that great at it.

5. My favorite season is fall.

6. I am obsessed with buying/wearing hats even though I never really wear them because it's against school dress code.

7. I can't wait to get out of my own city.

8. My parents immigrated from Korea at a young age, so I was born here. I don't speak any Korean, but I wish I could.

9. I am eating (and enjoying) pizza rolls as I write this post. EDIT: Now I'm eating chicken nuggets. (You should take this as something along the lines of the following: I eat whatever I feel like, I have the diet of a 12 year old, etc.)

10. I can't think of any more facts, but I'm anal and can't have just nine facts, so this is number ten.

See you all soon!
