With the weather being so cold outside, I find it hard to wear girly dresses and skirts. Luckily, I have this velvet maxi in my closet for freezing days like this. I threw on my white blazer for extra warmth and added a pair of platform sandals with tights to finish off the look. I love the girly floral pattern of the dress paired with the edgy knee high slit on the side.

Army Anorak

As you all probably already know, I absolutely love this green anorak that I picked up from Aritzia last sumer! It has become my go-to jacket for throwing on when its just a bit chilly outside. I actually wore this outfit for a bit of last minute Christmas Eve shopping with the family over the holidays. The outfit served me perfectly on one of those "I'm feeling lazy, but I still want to look fashionable" days. Hope you all are doing well!

Brights for Bleak Days

The non-stop rain has brought flash flood warnings and a rather bleak looking afternoon. However, that means I get to wear my Hunter rain boots! These babies are my pride and joy. They look so beautiful with absolutely everything. On days like today, everything is pretty much shades of gray, so I love to add a pop of color to my rainy day outfits. It's so easy with my bright blue raincoat that not only keeps me dry but also helps me to stand out from the dreary surroundings.

Feelin' Blue

 It's my first week back at school, and, let me say, I have not been enjoying it. Since I'm busy with school, I thought I'd quickly share with you guys an outfit I shot over the break. I absolutely adore this blue wall - expect many outfits in front of this wall. It was the perfect setting to bring out the subtle colors in the new kimono I got for Christmas (Thanks, Mom!). The floaty fabric and pastel colors have me yearning for a warm spring day; I can't wait to escape this cold spell! I hope you're all having a lovely week! Stay warm.

Grand Inspiration

Dress H&M | Coat Grandpa's | Knee Highs Target | Boots Topshop

My source of inspiration today comes, surprisingly, from my grandfather! I actually borrowed this oversized, plaid coat from his closet. "Grandpa Sweaters," (oversized and typically cable knit with large buttons), have been on trend for awhile now, so I thought I would try and introduced the "Grandpa Coat." The freezing weather today gave me the perfect opportunity to introduce it into my wardrobe. I chucked it on over a girly tulle dress and pulled on my knee high socks to give the outfit a bit of edge. I finished off the look with my heeled booties and trusty Rayban sunnies.

Classic Twist

I love the idea of pairing black trousers with heels and a dress coat for a classic and chic look. However, it was a little bit too boring for my taste. To spice it up, I picked out my plaid printed pants instead. They give this classic look the perfect trendy twist for this season.
