Dress Urban Outfitters | Blazer H&M | Shoes Forever21

With the weather being so cold outside, I find it hard to wear girly dresses and skirts. Luckily, I have this velvet maxi in my closet for freezing days like this. I threw on my white blazer for extra warmth and added a pair of platform sandals with tights to finish off the look. I love the girly floral pattern of the dress paired with the edgy knee high slit on the side.

Hope you all are having a lovely week so far!

Dress H&M | Coat Grandpa's | Knee Highs Target | Boots Topshop

My source of inspiration today comes, surprisingly, from my grandfather! I actually borrowed this oversized, plaid coat from his closet. "Grandpa Sweaters," (oversized and typically cable knit with large buttons), have been on trend for awhile now, so I thought I would try and introduced the "Grandpa Coat." The freezing weather today gave me the perfect opportunity to introduce it into my wardrobe. I chucked it on over a girly tulle dress and pulled on my knee high socks to give the outfit a bit of edge. I finished off the look with my heeled booties and trusty Rayban sunnies.

Jacket Forever21 | Top Urban Outfitters | Skirt Forever21 | Shoes Forever21 | Beanie H&M | Necklace Nordstrom

It's probably not shocking to most of you that I traditionally stick to a monochromatic color palette. However, today I thought I would add a little bit of color to my ensemble with this burgundy/wine skater skirt. It's fun, sophisticated, and flirty all at the same time. This outfit was perfect for a holiday gift exchange and, later, dinner with the family at a nice restaurant. The victorian inspired necklace and slightly heeled boots add a dressy element, while the beanie still helps to keeps it casual. As always, the weather prevented me from going out with bare arms, so I added my trust leather jacket. Please let me know what you think in the comments!
