Crop Tee DIY | Skort Zara | Heels Jessica Simpson | Necklace H&M

When it comes to fashion, I have always been of the mindset that simple truly is better. You don't always have to have bright pops of color and crazy cutouts to make a statement. Sometimes, simplicity can have the biggest impact. To keep from erring on the side of boring, however, I chose my asymmetrical Zara skirt, a chunky stud necklace, and strappy sandals. These items add interest to the outfit without going overboard. Last, but not least, I threw on a red lip: a simple, yet daring touch.

Stay simplistic,

Samantha

Festival Daze

Blouse Forever 21 | Shorts American Apparel | Boots Steve Madden | Bag Thailand

It's official - festival season is upon us. Unfortunately, the Carolinas don't offer anything even remotely comparable to Coachella, but that doesn't mean I can't dress the part! The warm weather of the south allows for shorts and sleeveless tops from April to September - something I'm going to be taking full advantage of. This look, inspired by grassy fields and sunny days, is perfect for all your spring and summer adventures. I added interest to this otherwise simple outfit by pairing it with a unique bag, a gift all the way from Thailand.

Stay inspired,

Samantha

"Find light in the beautiful sea, I choose to be happy."

For the couple of weeks that led up to my senior prom, I can't exactly say I was thrilled. I would be lying if said that being one of only four girls who would attend prom without a date made me happy. However, a few days before the big night, I had a change of heart. I was going to enjoy myself no matter the situation I was in. Despite the circumstances, I chose to be happy. And guess what? It worked. They say that attitude can change everything - they're  right. I had the most amazing time at my senior prom. From pictures to dinner to dancing to bowling, it didn't matter that I didn't have a date. I was with my friends, and I was having the time of my life (not to mention that I danced the night away in the most gorgeous gown). Paired with simple strappy heels and a fun clutch, it (and I) truly shined.

Stay happy,

Samantha

Overall Winner

Overalls Nordstrom Rack | Crop Top Topshop | Beanie H&M | Heels Macy's | Choker Marc Jacobs

The overall craze is not over yet guys! In fact, they're still a huge trend for this upcoming spring and summer. I finally understand the obsession - these babies are so comfortable and easy to wear. It's no secret that I'm obsessed with Nordstrom, so when I saw these at the Rack for only $30, I knew I had to have them. The acid wash denim is the perfect way to update the look from farmer to fashion.

Helvetica | Guess Who's Back?

Tee American Apparel | Blazer Nordstrom | Disco Pants American Apparel | Booties Urban Outfitters | Choker Antique

I'm finally back! I realize that it's been over a month since I've put up any content and for that I do sincerely apologize. I promise I'll be more regular from now on. Let's get on with it, shall we?

I have had my eye on a pair of American Apparel disco pants for quite some time now, but I've been holding back (mostly because of the hefty price tag). However, I decided it was finally time for me to add these babies into my collection. The high-shine and high-waist make for the perfect pair of statement pants. Keeping it simple, I threw on my favorite graphic tee of the moment and added my burgundy boyfriend blazer for the finishing touch.

How do you style your disco pants? Let me know in the comments below!

Back to Black (and Gray)

Sweater Nordstrom | Skirt H&M | Boots Topshop | Necklace Nordstrom

Hello everyone! I am so sorry that I have been completely MIA for the past couple of weeks. Sadly, I have just finished performing the last musical I will ever do in high school. However, this does mean that I have substantially more time on my hands for blogging - and maybe some school work. After my recent excursions with color, I have decided to get back to black. I paired my cozy gray turtleneck with an edgy leather skirt - complete with zippers. Talk with you soon!

Dress Urban Outfitters | Blazer H&M | Shoes Forever21

With the weather being so cold outside, I find it hard to wear girly dresses and skirts. Luckily, I have this velvet maxi in my closet for freezing days like this. I threw on my white blazer for extra warmth and added a pair of platform sandals with tights to finish off the look. I love the girly floral pattern of the dress paired with the edgy knee high slit on the side.

Hope you all are having a lovely week so far!

Grand Inspiration

Dress H&M | Coat Grandpa's | Knee Highs Target | Boots Topshop

My source of inspiration today comes, surprisingly, from my grandfather! I actually borrowed this oversized, plaid coat from his closet. "Grandpa Sweaters," (oversized and typically cable knit with large buttons), have been on trend for awhile now, so I thought I would try and introduced the "Grandpa Coat." The freezing weather today gave me the perfect opportunity to introduce it into my wardrobe. I chucked it on over a girly tulle dress and pulled on my knee high socks to give the outfit a bit of edge. I finished off the look with my heeled booties and trusty Rayban sunnies.
